* Not enough flavor in these. I tried scaling back the water by one cup thinking that maybe the printed recipe was off and it's still bland. Any less water and it'll be way too thick.
I've ordered a bunch of these in different flavors based on the good reviews, had this experience with every one so far (4) so I don't think it's a bad batch.
It could be a great product if they just put more flavoring in.
* Love love these "gello" mixes. I've either had to make jello from scratch, trying to get a decent flavor and sweetened level, or go without, since I don't do aspartame, found in the instant gello brand we all grew up with.
So am delighted to have found these. My favorite is probably the Raspberry, but I've made all sorts of variations by adding a splash of sugar free daVinci syrup to replace a bit of the water.
Lime n Nilla,
Orange Creme (adding a little Madagascar Vanilla),
Raspberry n Creme,
Strawberry n Creme.
Limited only by your imagination. :-)
* So a lot of other artificial sweeteners make me twitch -so literally. My nervous system gets all dorked up. Stevia doesn't do that to me, so. I went looking for stevia jello. And here it is!
I'm eating the raspberry right now.
It *does* have a stevia aftertaste. It also has that strange jello "I am what someone who has never tasted raspberries imagines they taste like" flavor that fruit flavored candy gets. So, as a low-calorie comfort desert- I like it. Might also use it to make gummy bears and ice cream. I get wicked frustrated at all the yummy looking recipes calling for sugar free Jello, when I can't have it. And yeah I could learn to make it from plain myself but sometimes you just want someone else to do the work, so you can chill out with a bowl of jello.
This does that nicely.
