June 19, 2020Reviewer: A customer in New Mexico* The “new formula” is most unpleasant! Total destruction of everything which made these my all time fave low carb treat. The new texture is a horrendous glue-like mess, and the new flavor is like children’s cough syrup. Why did they alter this product so radically? And who thought it was an improvement? If you enjoy really really sticky paste-like candy which tastes like chemical fruit, these are for you. If you are expecting an improvement to the once-amazing candy, AVOID! Go with the gummy bears instead - at least those are not a gloopy mess.

These ARE delicious, nice and chewy, very flavorful and a decent amount in the package for a Specialized treat. However, they are NOT Diabetic friendly at all. I ate only one package, which contains about 8-10 Gummy Fish, my Glucose spiked severely. It went from 120 to 292 in less than an hour and this was the only thing I snacked on during that time frame. I believe it's likely due to the first ingredient on the list, which is also the largest ingredient used. These will also make a Non Diabetics Glucose spike, just not to the same degree. When this occurs in the human body, you can bet that this will NOT aid you in weight loss, nor help you with maintenance either. If however, you're not Diabetic, nor care about weight loss/gain, then by all means enjoy this very unhealthy, somewhat expensive snack. Might as well buy a pound of Jelly Beans or regular Swedish fish at a better price and binge away. I won't be buying these again, until the company can formulate them correctly and using ingredients that match the claim of low carb, sugar free, etc.
