    * Hmmm. That's what I have to say about this product. I just got it today and decided to try to make the formed biscuits from it. Here's what I've got to say.

First off, the nutrition info is confusing. One serving is "one biscuit." There's supposed to be 90 servings per bag, but the bag just isn't that big. The recipe I made was supposed to make 10 biscuits, but it made 6 for me.

I baked the biscuits as directed. They didn't rise much in the oven. They were only maybe an inch thick at the most. They also didn't brown much on top, so it was hard to tell if they were really done. Alas, they were.

I tried the biscuits warm from the oven with butter. I was really excited about the texture at first because, unlike Carbquik, the texture looked less... "wet." Carbquik usually makes everything wet for some reason and this looked more bready. Not dry, but not wet either. It looked good.

The taste. It was one of those things where I had to take several small bites before I could even form an opinion, and even after those, I still couldn't form a great opinion. There isn't any aftertaste. The flavor is...different. It's hard to say whether it is good or bad-- it's more just-- peculiar. Different. It doesn't really taste like flour-based biscuits, but it doesn't taste like Carbquik or super soy-ish either. It's an interesting flavor. It's not strong, it's just...different. I can't explain it.

The mouth feel was weird. Unlike carby bread items, it doesn't really break down in your mouth. Think of how gum doesn't break up when you chew it. It's not that bad, but there's a definite chewiness and lack of breakdown that takes some getting used to. I'm actually tempted to make a hybrid with this product and Carbquik mixed together.

Sorry for the ambiguity. I just don't really know how to rate this. It's in a class all its own.

    * This product tasted better than CarbQuick as no funny after taste. However, it is way to salty. Even with LC honey on it, the saltiness took over the taste of the entire biscuit. Can't they cut back on the salt? Next time I make biscuits I shall use Spectrum shortening and see if that helps a bit.

This batch will become bread pudding.
